When I had a baby at my side and other children within the cradle was working 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! The home was starting to appear nice, however there were still many things left. The project would require an enormous amount of effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture to furnish this home. To keep the budget in check, I began going to estate sales with three sons to find diamonds in the rough. We had a weekly schedule that included spending Friday through Saturday at estate and garage sales, purchasing new and old objects. I then spent the remainder of the week sanding and painting the driveway. It was kind of similar to the following... This is where my love for restoring antique furniture started. When our home was furnished I couldn't quit! There was an area on the market to sell things. My collection eventually grew enough that the area I had was not enough. I hosted open houses at my residence where 1 000 people could visit during a weekend. the visitors were able to purchase items on the ground level. Growing Days is the result of all this. Alongside my flourishing company, I also started our family. I was trying to find that perfect balance of having starting a new venture as well as a mother too. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora my 4th child was born in the year 2013. My company was doing well but I was in need of a break. I got away from vintage furniture to spend the time I needed with my family. At the time, it was what I wanted. However after a few months after that, the phone began to ring. They asked for assistance with interior decorating and renovations. These people had mostly been to my home during open houses to purchase furniture. In the course of my work, I added clients each day. It wasn't too long before I managed several clients, and had a profitable home improvement business. When you first told me about my business in home renovation, I laughed. Indeed, I am laughing a little when I remember the episode.
