Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her early Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director has spent most of her professional career working with well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be released as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. She has also been in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original character in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
