Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic contest. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci as she was only seven years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. In the following year, she became champion. She took home three golds at her debut competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a communist countries. Between 1973 and 1974, she was the junior champion in all-round competitions. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals as well as one silver. The first female to complete a reverse double salo with the bar with a parallel surface after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer during her teenage years. As a young girl she started her career as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. They featured ice skating shows that included theatrical performances.
